Para Rowing is sweep rowing (with one oar) or sculling (with two oars) for people with a wide range of abilities and unique needs, including the parasport classifications PR1, PR2, and PR3. Rowing is terrific for building strength and cardiovascular fitness, making it a great cross training pursuit or just an enjoyable way to be active. Rowing is also a fully accessible sport as the equipment can be adapted to accommodate the individual needs of the athlete.

The Argonaut Rowing Club has been welcoming para members for more than 20 years. The program includes:
TRY-IT SESSIONS: Our free, personal try-it sessions provide an introduction to rowing, first on our indoor rowing machines and then on the water. For more information see the FAQs below or contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
LEARN TO ROW: Through our Para Learn-to-Row program, we introduce the sport of rowing to individuals with a wide range of abilities. Para Learn-to-Row begins in June and participants need to be available for 2 to 3 hours on Saturday and/or Sunday mornings. Private lessons may be available during the week depending on equipment and coach availability.
RECREATIONAL/FITNESS ROWING: We provide the opportunity for recreational para rowers to have access to a crew situation, upon completion of learn to row. Para athletes are encouraged to integrate with club crews if they are looking for additional water time. This can be done through our club coordinator who helps to facilitate crew formations and/or by putting your contact information on our crew spares list.
COMPETITIVE ROWING: We foster and train competitive para rowers towards the provincial, national, and international competitive levels. This competitive approach requires dedication and overall physical fitness. The athletes follow a structured training plan and have a high level of personal commitment. Crew boating decisions are made by the coach with the goal of individual athlete development and overall crew potential.
